Logan's Excavating brings three generations of experience to every job in Milaca and Central Minnesota. One local crew handles everything from septic systems and site preparation to gravel roads, aggregate delivery, and winter snow removal.

Service 01

Excavation & Site Preparation

Every good build starts with good dirt work. We clear, excavate, and grade your site so your foundation goes in on solid, properly compacted ground.

Whether you're building a new home, a shop, a pole barn, or a commercial building in Central Minnesota, Logan's Excavating prepares your site from raw land to a build-ready pad. We plan around frost, drainage, and soil conditions, and we work with your builder to keep the schedule on track year-round, winter digs included.

  • Site clearing, stripping, and tree and stump removal
  • Basement, foundation, and footing excavation
  • Building pads for homes, garages, shops, and pole barns
  • Rough and finish grading for proper drainage
  • Backfill, compaction, and utility trenching

Service 02

Septic Systems

Septic installation in Milaca and across Central Minnesota, from the first soil boring to final inspection.

A septic system is one of the biggest investments on a rural property, and it has to be done right. We evaluate your soils, design a system sized for your home, and install it to Minnesota SSTS standards and your county's ordinance. Building new, replacing a failing system, or selling a property that needs a compliance inspection? We handle the paperwork and coordination so you don't have to.

  • Soil evaluations and site assessments
  • Septic system design for new and existing homes
  • Mound, trench, and bed system installation
  • Failing system replacement and tank upgrades
  • Compliance inspection support for property sales
  • County permit coordination

Service 03

Gravel Roads & Driveways

Gravel road construction for Minnesota conditions: a solid base, a proper crown, and drainage that survives spring thaw.

A gravel road is only as good as what's underneath it and how well it sheds water. We build private roads, long rural driveways, farm field roads, and township roads from the subgrade up, and we keep existing roads in shape with regular grading and maintenance. Culverts and ditching are part of every plan so water stays off your road.

  • New gravel road and driveway construction
  • Road rebuilds, widening, and added parking areas
  • Grading, re-crowning, and pothole and washboard repair
  • Class 5 gravel installation and compaction
  • Culvert installation and replacement
  • Ditching and roadside drainage

Service 05

Hydro-Mulching & Erosion Control

Protect your new grade and get grass growing fast with hydro-mulch seeding and erosion control.

Freshly graded soil is vulnerable to washouts until vegetation takes hold. Hydro-mulching sprays seed, mulch, and tackifier in one pass, holding the soil in place and keeping moisture where the seed needs it. It's the most effective way to finish slopes, ditches, septic mounds, and large lawn areas, and we pair it with erosion control measures that keep your site in compliance.

What's Included

  • Hydro-mulch seeding for lawns, slopes, and ditches
  • Septic mound and drainfield vegetation
  • Silt fence and sediment control
  • Slope stabilization and erosion blanket
  • Stormwater and construction site compliance

Service 06

Demolition

Safe, efficient residential and agricultural demolition, with the site left clean and ready for what's next.

Old farmhouses, collapsing barns, outdated garages, fire-damaged structures: we take them down, haul away the debris, and restore the site. Because we're excavators first, we can go straight from demolition to site prep for your new build without bringing in another contractor.

What's Included

  • House, garage, and outbuilding demolition
  • Barn, silo, and agricultural structure removal
  • Fire and storm damage cleanup
  • Foundation and slab removal
  • Debris hauling and site restoration

Service 07

Snow Removal

Commercial and rural snow management you can count on all winter long.

Minnesota winters don't wait, and neither do we. Our heavy equipment handles the long driveways, private roads, farm yards, and commercial lots that smaller plow services can't. When the big storms hit, we push it back, stack it, or haul it away so you stay open and accessible.

What's Included

  • Commercial parking lot plowing
  • Rural driveways and private roads
  • Farm yards and agricultural sites
  • Snow stacking, pushing back, and hauling
  • Seasonal and per-event service

Service 08

Wetland Delineation & Permitting

Regulatory assistance and environmental compliance, so wetlands don't stall your project.

Central Minnesota is full of wetlands, and building near one means following the Minnesota Wetland Conservation Act and local rules. We identify and delineate wetland boundaries, help you plan around them, and assist with the approvals and permits your project needs before the first bucket of dirt moves.

What's Included

  • Wetland delineation and boundary flagging
  • Site planning around wetlands and setbacks
  • Regulatory approvals and permit applications
  • Coordination with county and local agencies
  • Environmental compliance guidance
